Who's brewing?

GG

Part-time doctor. Part-time software developer. Full-time convinced that most things improve if you let them steep a bit longer.

The two halves are less separate than they sound. Medicine is mostly noticing the thing everyone else scrolled past, then doing the unglamorous work properly and in the right order. So is shipping software. Both punish you for guessing.

What comes out of that is a preference for things that are small, quiet and hard to break — the site that still loads in four years, the app that works when the signal doesn't, the little box that keeps logging after the battery gets rude. Not the biggest build. The one still standing.

The name is a family joke that got out of hand. Coffee before dawn, beer after a long one, and something compiling in between. It all counts as brewing.

  • DAY Stethoscope. Long hours. Very bad coffee.
  • NIGHT Editor open, something half-built, better coffee.
  • ALWAYS Something on the stove that nobody asked for.

Kettle's already on

Work, a half-formed idea, or a question about something on the Work page — all equally welcome.
